Movie Review: James Bond Skyfall 007

Watched "Skyfall" the 23rd James Bond movie featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva (the villain). Watched it last night together with some friends at Cine Royal, Khalidiya Mall, Abu Dhabi, UAE. It's been a while since I last watched a movie at Khalidiya Mall and it's my first time to watch a James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. What can I say?

About Cine Royal, Khalidiya Mall: The ambiance is nice and comfty, I really like it compared to other cinemas I went in to here at Abu Dhabi, UAE. Though, I'm surprised that there were too much commercials and trailers as expected and the movie did not start on time. My popcorn is almost 1/4 when the movie actually started. The movie is PG15 and kids are not allowed so we need to send Chloei home first, thankfully we had enough time before the movie actually started.

About Skyfall: The trade mark of James Bond movies, great opening clip showing the usual credits and Adele singing the OST is just awesome, I really like Adele songs. This James Bond movie is not what I expected though.. Not much extravagance, in my terms I will say it seems like a normal movie.. Not James Bond at all.. Maybe I say this because not much of fight scenes and the intrigue which usually flows with the Bond girl is not that much.. Plus there where no new gadgets.. The car is not that flashy also, LOL.. ;p I feel it's just bits and pieces of a real James Bond movie.. I'm guessing this movie is just a prelude for a make-over of the James Bond series for the future. You know.. Changing many things in it, including character portrayals. I don't like spoilers so better not mention any. ;p

Overall, for me, it's not that bad but not that good either.. It's quite different from the usual Bond movie but learned lot of things in it though like James Bond's background. Is it worth watching? Some say not. But yes it is still worth watching, for the experience of it since James Bond is now in it’s 50th year. ;)
